The Garmin GPSmap 441s is a compact, yet highly functional chartplotter.
Buy your Garmin GPS Chartplotter here and chart a course for your best fishing season ever.
Featuring a daylight visible, ultra-bright 4″ QVGA full color screen the 441s has a simplified user interface making plotting your course, or saving waypoints, easier than ever.
The GPSmap 441s comes preloaded with satellite enhanced navigational maps of the entire United States coastal areas (including Alaska, Hawaii and the Bahamas). For those who are boating outside of the US, there is also a preloaded world-wide basemap consisting of enhanced satellite images, in place of the more traditional navigational charts. The standard SD card slot also allows you to add additional maps (of inland lakes for example) without having to purchase extra software to connect to your computer.
Of course the GPSmap 441s has Garmin’s standard high sensitivity gps receiver for more rapid satellite acquisition and faster position tracking. The gps is also WAAS enabled which allows you to determine your position anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere to within 10 ft (since there are no WAAS stations in the Southern Hemisphere, typical gps accuracy is to within 50ft.).
I’m sure you noticed the ’s’ at the end of the 441s. This indicates that this is the ’sounder’ version of the basic 441 model. Both the 441 and 441s have identical features and options with the exception that the 441s also comes with a powerful dual-frequency transducer, making it a combination chartplotter and fishfinder. The dual frequency transducer is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater applications, clearly displaying depth contours, fish, and other bottom structures.
The Garmin GPSmap 441s chartplotter is great piece of marine electronics for today, but what about tomorrow? Garmin has taken care of that for you with these optional features and expansion capabilities.
- Optional GXM 51 satellite antenna to receive US graphical weather data
- Accepts BlueChart g2 Vision cards for high resolution satellite imagery, 3D views and Auto Guidance technology
- NMEA 2000 compatabiliity for easy networking with sensors and instruments.
Auto Guidance technology is an awesome feature that searches through all relevant charts in order to plot the safest course possible, avoiding shallows, buoys, and other known obstructions.
Highly functional, loaded with optional features and the capabiility to expand makes buying the Garmin GPSmap 441s a smart decision and a great value.
