At the heart of the A70 is the incredibly accurate GPS WAAS internal receiver which provides the most accurate positioning available. Know where you are anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere to within 10 ft (there are no WAAS stations in the Southern Hemisphere). If you’re interested in a below decks installation, you can simply purchase the optional Raystar GPS antenna and get the same pinpoint accuracy.

The Raymarine A70 chartplotter comes preloaded with navigational charts for all coastal waters of the continental United States and the Great Lakes. Equipped with a CompactFlash card reader you can load additional HotMaps, Navionics Gold or Navionics Platinum charts. Navionics Platinum charts offer the enhanced 3D satellite imaging, panoramic images, tide and current information and provides information on coastal points of interest.

All of this information is beautifully displayed on the high resolution 6.4 inch full color VGA screen, which is fully viewable in direct sunlight. Easily mounted on the tilt and swivel bracket (included) for the most flexibility in viewing, the bracket also features a quick release lever so you can take it with you. The A70 is just as easily flush mount installed using the optional kit.

The A70 is also Sirius Satellite weather and radio compatible, allowing you to receive  weather information and/or over 1000 radio channels. The weather satellite information includes graphical Nowrad radar, sea surface temperatures, storm tracks and buoy forecasts.

With your safety in mind the Raymarine A70 chartplotter  is also AIS compatible (with the purchase of the AIS250 receiver). AIS is an Automatic Identification System that locates, and identifies, other ships in your area, directly on your display. Operating on the VHF maritime band, you can learn the name, course, speed, registry, and other vital information should you need to make contact, in the case of an onboard emergency or possible collision course.
